I'm Shannon Smith — a licensed hairstylist and Certified Hair Practitioner with more than 16 years in the hair industry. I created The Beauty Cottage as a quiet, unhurried place where women experiencing hair thinning, shedding, or scalp changes can feel genuinely heard and cared for.
Every appointment is completely private and one-on-one. I take the time to understand your full picture — your history, your lifestyle, your concerns — and we build a plan together. When appropriate, I refer clients for medical evaluation. My role is to support your scalp health and help you understand what you're experiencing.
What you'll receive in your consultation
Start with the confidential Hair & Scalp Questionnaire — it's required before booking and takes about 5 minutes. Then book your Restoring Roots Consultation. A $50 deposit is required for new clients.
